You can access an interpreter 24x7x365 from any telephone, including land lines and cell phones.
To reach an interpreter:
- Dial toll-free: 833-496-0907.
- Enter your PIN at a steady rate, without pauses, followed by the #
- Select the language you need from the Quick Dial options or press 0 to use the voice recognition function.
- Answer the service type and gender
Your call will be connected to an Interpreter.
How to connect multiple callers:
We recommend calling the interpreter first so they can assist with the call from the start. Then:
- Put the interpreter on hold while you dial out to the non-English speaking participant and merge the calls
- Provide the interpreter with the additional participant’s phone number and ask them to connect The interpreter does not retain this data after the call is complete.
Important Note on Microsoft Teams and Zoom:
On-demand interpretation is not available from within virtual meetings, despite a call-out feature being available on some plans. The functionality does not support keying in secondary numbers like a PIN or language request key. This is a known limit related to touch tones and beyond Alboum’s control. To have an interpreter join you in a virtual meeting, schedule an appointment through the Alboum interpretation platform, including the meeting link, and one will be assigned to you. On-demand interpretation is accessible using the phone features of these platforms if your organization uses them as primary phone systems. If you’re having trouble accessing the system from a cell phone, initiate the call from the built-in dial pad, not within the Teams or Zoom app.
How to find your PIN:
If you have access to the Alboum platform (alboum.interpretmanager.com), you can find this information by clicking on “Configuration” in the left menu bar and hovering over the question marks.
