The Quality Assurance Specialist is focused on ensuring Alboum’s Spanish translations are accurate, error-free, and culturally appropriate. This individual works alongside Alboum’s linguists and our in-house Linguistic Quality Assurance team and shares our commitment to integrity and client service.
Primary tasks include:
- Review and edit translations for high-profile clients to ensure consistency, readability and quality.
- Conduct regular quality assessments on existing translators and translations.
- Develop and implement quality assurance procedures in partnership with the director of quality assurance
- Create glossaries, style guides, and others resources for use in the translation process
- Identify and resolve issues related to translation workflow
- Review and conduct alignments for Spanish translation memories
- Review potential linguists and evaluate translation tests for new linguists with the vendor management team
Requirements for Position:
- 4+ years in the translation industry in translation, editing, proofreading, or quality assurance capacities
- Knowledge of schools and organizations providing translation coursework, training, and certifications
- Fluent, native speaker of Spanish
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Reliable, committed to quality, and keen attention to detail
- Friendly, patient, and customer-oriented personality
- Strong problem solver
- Process-oriented and organized
- Able to work independently, multitask, and prioritize work
- Knowledge of Trados and TermBase; knowledge of Plunet preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
The Quality Assurance Specialist is a full-time, remote position and a successful candidate can be located anywhere in the world so long as the individual is available from 10 – 2 EST each business day.
