Like all Alboum services, bilingual staff training and evaluations are available entirely á la carte and delivered on your timeline. Evaluate already-trained staff at the start of a new school or fiscal year, or train new staff members as they join the team.
Interpreter
Training
Alboum training empowers bilingual staff with the skills and confidence needed to jump in and serve as an interpreter at a moment’s notice. Training is delivered online and in short modules to meet individual staff member schedules. Course options range from interpretation basics to advanced and industry-specific topics, including healthcare and special education. Courses are offered in partnership with Cross-Cultural Communications, a leader in interpreter education. Customizable, full-day group training is also available.
Evaluation
& Testing
For organizations looking to evaluate bilingual staff’s ability to serve as an ad-hoc translator or interpreter, Alboum offers short skills assessments. In addition to checking for fluency in both languages, we review individuals’ ability to accurately and appropriately translate a short text or facilitate a conversation.
These assessments are not interpreter certifications, but rather validation that a trusted staff member is a good fit in a linguistic capacity.
Alboum backs up in-house teams during periods of peak demand or for languages not supported internally. We translate and interpret in nearly 100 languages for schools, community organizations, health centers, nonprofits, and local and state governments, as well as the for-profit entities that support them.
